Answering this post I have only bad news for you.
Yes, man (mankind) is greedy. The free market capitalism acknowledges this human weakness, and offers a proposition that better than in any other known system turns this weakness into prosperity generator for most.
But, let us be honest, capitalism is a nasty system. The United States in the 19th century was the closest to its well working version, and it was no fun. But, at the same time it was worse everywhere else in the world. For this reason, all entrepreneurial people tried to come here.
Socialists will tell you that by us working together we can make humans better and the world around us more just. Making humans not greedy is as easy as training lions to eat grass. And, making world better means that us, or to be precise the government apparatus representing “us” telling you what your pursuing of happiness should be. It leads to limiting your ability to generate more wealth for yourself and others. It leads to everyone being equal, in poverty.
They will tell you that just a few regulations more and they will convert capitalism into a paradise on Earth. My last bad news for you is that paradise is in heaven. If you want to get there you need to die first. When it comes to me, I am not in rush in getting to heaven. I prefer suffering right here, on the very imperfect Earth.
