As a Pole, I read the quoted sentence as giving up on Ukraine today, and the independence of Poland in the foreseeable future, for the sake of peace today. The author knows well Russian nationalistic narrative. Its main prerogative is to end the economic and military dominating position of the United States.
The question: What does Russia need to do today so that the West should be ready to fight the world war to stop it? The right answer is nothing above what Russia already did by invading Ukraine.
The main weakness of the article is the author's lack of understanding of the historical background.
