Capitalism is about individual responsibility; socialism is about us. “Us” sounds better but it does not work. You are welcome to build your own safety net and offer it at your free will as a charity to others. But, if in order to offer a safety net to others you want to use the government apparatus of coercion to extort money from me, it is legalizing stealing. A safety net demobilizes people creativity; it pushes middle class into poverty. Read Charles Murry “Coming Apart.” In the course of my work, I provided services to many impoverished Americans. They have worse living conditions than my humble ones. They drive worse cars than my economy ones. But they have better TVs that I do, they have more expensive cable TV service, they have more time to watch TV, and most of them are much fatter than the rest of us. There is nothing as stimulating creativity and productivity as an empty stomach.

The book I recommended was published in 1922.

Lastly, your other arguments made me suspicious that you did not read my text about socialism versus capitalism. I checked the stats on Medium, no one even clicked on this text within the last two days.
