At some point, I looked at the rising cost of college education with the eyes of an engineer, good at troubleshooting technical and business problems.

Why can not most universities follow the old formula of The Cooper Union? When I visited that college about twenty years ago, the old formula of Peter Cooper, “Be good or be gone,” was nowhere to be found in the school. I saw it in the tavern next door. No wonder they charge tuition now.
