Dear Professor Galloway.

At some point, I looked at the rising cost of college education with the eyes of an engineer, good at troubleshooting technical and business problems.

My conclusion was simple; the government throws easy money. Debt collectors collect real money. The solution is not in the multitude of measures you suggest; it is in stopping the wasteful spending of taxpayers’ money. It is on Medium: https://virtualagora.us/a-volcano-of-complaints-42f84f501b82.

Why can not most universities follow the old formula of The Cooper Union? When I visited that college about twenty years ago, the old formula of Peter Cooper, “Be good or be gone,” was nowhere to be found in the school. I saw it in the tavern next door. No wonder they charge tuition now.
