Dear Senator Rubio,

Thank you for writing this lengthy text. You seem to be a man of good intentions, but poor understanding of what America is all about. You are wrong big time in your headline that “The American dream is about the opportunity to earn happiness — and the government has a responsibility to facilitate that.” You are correct in the first part of your statement, you are deadly wrong that the government has to facilitate my work to happiness. For the god’s sake, how the government can even know what happiness is for me? The crux of the American political system is that happiness might be something different for each of 325.7 millions of Americans. It is the core concept of the American political system that the government should respect the god given liberties of an individual and provide security for this individual to pursue happiness. Your approach is of the autocratic leader of the enlightenment era who wants to be good for his or her subjects. Fulfilling this role seems to be your mission as a politician.

In your approach, the more well-intend politicians regulate, the better the country becomes. It is about time to ask, how we can improve the country by eliminating regulations established with the intention of making our country better.

My longer lecture on the subject is in this text:
