Editors make decisions on what to run. They need to be knowledgeable enough to see the wheat from the weed. I learned that about a half-century ago when as an intern, I worked as an assistant to the best editor I knew. He later was among the founders of Gazeta Wyborcza, the major Polish newspaper. To the best of my knowledge, he was one of the key people making Gazeta a big success. They called him the best editor in the world,
