Facebook does not need to be regulated. It needs more competition. In particular from social media startups, designed to make people smarter. The weakness of Facebook could be a business opportunity for potential competitors. The burden of regulations will be much heavier on them than on Facebook. Mr. Zuckerberg wants these regulations to sanction Facebook’s dominating position on the social media market by making it harder for potential competitors. On the top of his agenda is the wellbeing of Facebook’s shareholders.
