Fred, you ask me to spend money we do not have to support doubtful projects suggested to solve the problem we might not have.

We have ongoing global warming that started for natural reasons about 20,000 years ago. It has periods of slower and faster changes. The last period of rapid warming occurred about 6,000 – 8,000 years ago. Humans already were around, much less advanced than we are, and they survived.

Previous periods of global warming or cooling resulted from changes in oceans currents caused by continents shifts. Whatever damage humans did to our lovely Earth could not force the currently observed Americas moving away from Europe and Africa, with the cracks opening at the bottom of the Atlantic. It distorts ocean currents and is most likely the reason for the climate anomalies we observe. But it is the reason carefully not mentioned by the scientists you quote.

Right here on Medium, you can find a better explanation: https://medium.datadriveninvestor.com/science-and-money-in-the-climate-change-debate-f94e3c7130ac.
