Good observations, wrong conclusions.

We all can bring examples of people rationalizing formally irrational decisions. Let us take an example of a devoted priest, who, at his retirement, comes to the logical conclusion that God does not exist.

Or let us go to politics. Is there any chance that one can find reasonable arguments convincing Bernie Sanders that socialism never worked and never will?

But do those irrational choices make us happy and prosperous? I know about one case of a wife of a sexual offender, and feel sorry for the woman in denial.
