I did not read this book. I skimmed it for about 10 minutes, reading a paragraph here and there.

If not capitalism, there would be no civilization we have, Mr. Doctorow would be struggling to find food and shelter. He would not have a computer to write his book, and there would be no internet to spread it.

I explained this in my polemic with Shoshana Zubov, an “inventor” of surveillance capitalism. It appears that Mr. Doctorow did not read it. I guess that editors at Medium did not read it either.
