I find on Medium many articles complaining that things are getting worse in America.

Immigration, health care, inflation, political impasse, misinformation, and wars in Ukraine and Gaza – to mention a few existential problems.

They are non-existent among the most-read stories in Medium. I spent more time on Medium during my recent vacations and found a few good articles. They were not among those recommended to me in the daily emails from Medium. Why? For my membership fee, I expect a better selection in daily recommendations.

Among the ten most-read stories in April, only one touches on the world's real problems today. And unfortunately, it is a linguistic argument. There is no one article asking if we can stop the killing and how.

I know articles addressing that problem are on Medium because I posted some of them.

What is going on? Is it something that I am not getting?
