I grew up in Poland. There were no Blacks. Maybe an occasional tourist or a few students at the local university. But in entirely white Poland, we experienced precisely the same problems I see in the racially mixed United States. Please explain to me white privilege in the example of Poland. Then, you will understand that there is no white privilege in the United States.
I shared my thoughts on this subject in a short column: https://hak1010.medium.com/i-was-illuminated-into-being-a-racist-f73f0ce8b11f.
I checked a few of your articles. You sound like a reasonable person, and you are a good writer. But your obsession with racism is irrational. I do not see racism as the major problem in the United States. In my political writing, I focus on other issues. However, with recently so much talk about systematic racism, I would be interested in opening a conversation. I will do it only if I can find a sparring partner. Opposite to most writers on Medium, I do not like to write for the open air. Many of my articles are polemics, where I point to a person I disagree with and provide a link to the text I question.
If you follow my approach and write a polemic with my article mentioned above, I will respond and will encourage others to join a conversation. I am a co-founder of Virtual Agora, https://virtualagora.us/about, a publication on Medium devoted to the dialogue between people of opposing views. We would gladly open the section for discussing race issues.
It is not about me persuading you or you convincing me, even though it would be fun to do so. The purpose is to bring all valid arguments in one place so we both and readers foremost have a better understanding of each other.
Nobody else in the whole United States does what I offer you. Despite that, it is so obvious that it needs to be done. We can make history.
