I grew up in Poland, in relative modesty, and immigrated to the United States in my middle thirties. It took me a while to reach what Livia reached in Spain. I got my financial freedom in the United States with a modest income because I live a humble life despite temptations from left and right. My point is that there is no difference between Spain and the United States. The difference is in mentality. Too many Americans cannot resist buying things they do not need and cannot afford.
