I just sent this message to Dr. Yildiz:

I am just rereading “Democracy in America” by Alexis de Tocqueville. Yesterday, I was in the chapter where he wrote that when seeing a problem, the French would individually petition the authority. The Americans would organize and would present the united voice of many.

To be heard, writers must unite and submit a list of simple requests to Tony and his team. I outlined a vision for Medium in my old article, “Can Medium be the next big thing in media?” I would guess that among the articles you edited, you might remember at least a few presenting similar or different ideas.

Please consider writing a piece referring to a few articles presenting ideas of what readers want Medium to be; add your suggestions and ask for more. Consider publishing all texts on that subject in one section. Let us run it for a month or two. Every week or two, I can write a summary of the ideas presented. I suggest you could do that as well as others. When you become aware of the text fitting that profile but published elsewhere on Medium, consider adding a link to it in those summaries.

By the end of that exercise, we might have the voices of the community in one place. We might have a meaningful group of writers willing to act in unison in getting what we conclude is worth doing.
