I read this text twice and could not figure it out what the author wants to tell his readers. He drops names of many political writers, so it looks like he read a lot, but my impression is, he understand much less. He mentions many ad hoc theories formed by aspiring thinkers, but he fails to ask the most important questions.
First, is our political system as defined by the Constitution and writings of the Founders still valid today, or do we need to change it?
Second, are our problems resulting from us firmly sticking to the vision laid down when the country was formed, or they are consequences of us drifting away from these fundamental values?
