I read with great interest about the science behind what I got with little or no effort.

I grew up in a modest means family. Our parents focused on giving us only highly nutritious meals because they had little money. They taught me that we eat to live, not live to eat. In the process, I developed an animal instinct of craving food that my body needs.

Like most creative people, in my youth, I experienced a lot of chronic stress but was lucky to read a few good books to take it under control. I would mention the theory of positive disintegration by Kazimierz Dąbrowski, which is now gaining popularity.

I found a balance between accepting the worst unavoidable situations, even if they were my fault, and having the strength to get out of them. Call it a positive outlook on life.

I agree that the common cold and stress weaken us, paving the way for more severe illnesses. My disease risk reduction and self-healing start with a glass of red wine or a shot of tequila. Just one.
