I remember what I wrote, I watched the debate, but still followed your suggestion and read the article again. I still believe it was right on the spot.

Then I thought about your impression; it could be cultural.

I formed my writing style about half a century ago in Poland. We were taught not to lecture the reader, but to bring relevant facts and arguments so the readers themselves can see the conclusions.

Political writers is the U.S. are obtrusively didactic. They tell people what they should think, and do not expect readers being able to think for themselves.

Asa reader I am offended by that style.

As a writer I do not follow it. And, for this reason, you do not read my articles in the mainstream media outlets despite that my texts are better than they have.

Just a though for your consideration.
