I studied mathematical machines. Now, they are called computers. My life also constantly evolved around new technologies, so theoretically, I should be well-positioned to master all those new gadgets. And I do, but selectively. I still believe that I am smarter than my smartphone. I find many features awkward and not intuitive. I do not have hundreds of applications, but only a few that I found helpful. I struggle with operating a small screen with my big fingers only as much as it is unavoidable; I see a desktop as more practical. Lastly, I am old enough to know that so many hot novelties come and go, so I do not worry much that I gave up on mastering some. They might be gone before I will.
