In my native Poland, a high school graduate receives “The Certificate of Maturity.”

At the time I attended high school, more than half a century ago, we were taught many of the things you mention. Some in the class called “civic education,” others by bringing up practical aspects when learning other things.

But, what you do not mention, I learned a lot by participating in the daily affairs of my family. From as early as I can remember, I knew the income my parents had. I knew how much were utility bills, how much were other expenses. I knew what we could afford and what we could not.

I raised my kids in the United States and maintained the same approach. It can be done. It did not occur to me that it is worth writing about it.
