In the high school and the university, I attended, almost daily we were reminded that we were not trained to take this or that job. We were told that the technical knowledge that the school can give us might be obsolete the day we graduate. The focus was put on teaching us the technological basics. Parallel, we were given broad education in social science and humanities, just to be a full human, as we heard. I agree with you that not all schools have the same approach.
