In the old school, using vulgarities like “f” words was considered a disqualifying weakness of the author. The art of writing was in presenting facts and arguments in a way that a reader would say, “what the f…, I have to do something about it.” When the writer spells out the same, a reader sees someone who could chill out a little bit.

The art of writing is not in expressing the frustrations of the author. It is in presenting a case in a way that a reader will be pissed off.
