Indeed, only very few creators will ever make real money from their work. It matters who does and who does not. In prosperous societies, communication in the public square truly reflects the major issues of the day.

The doomsday scenarios are the dominating mantra in political writing on Medium. Authors seeking an understanding of our problems and looking for feasible solutions are not making money in the United States, Medium included.

The real question is if creators put their effort in chasing a dollar by producing their version of potato chips, or they can make a fortune by offering healthy food for thought.
