You are right about bringing the military-industrial complex. Reminding the Eisenhower warning is not in fashion today. I did it anyway.

But I see it differently in the case of Ukraine. I would not be surprised if people behind real money lied to Putin that they would mitigate sanctions against Russia if it invaded Ukraine. This way, they loaned a lot of money to the governments in the West for military hardware. They knew that Russia expanding its territory or the sphere of influence by force would be precedence negating the current world order. The West could not accept that. This is the reality that Putin ignored. And he is getting that big reality check you write about.

Your reply indicates that you did not even peek at the articles I suggested in my previous comment. I responded because you mentioned the Eisenhower warning in the context of Ukraine. I did not discuss that in any of my articles. Otherwise, if I have an article responding to the comment, I consider it fair to provide a link.
