It looks like that Dr. Yildiz's patience ran out. And rightfully so.
The concept of Medium, as it happened thanks to writers and volunteers like Dr. Yildiz, is brilliant.
But it is not the vision of Ev Williams, the founder, long time CEO and still the Chairman. For him, Medium is a tool to propagate his political ideas. What Dr. Yildiz, and, so far, 77 commentators write, is a nuisance.
To become a vibrant platform, Medium needs readers. To keep readers, Medium needs to offer something that readers cannot find elsewhere. Ev Williams and investors did not get that yet. All writers see less reading, because other writers are the only readers. Many of them are not paying members. There is no way to make money.
