Joan is right on that and made a few more apt observations.

However, the negativity of the message turns me off. I am fed up with articles saying that it is bad and is going to be worse.

Also, good writers bring facts and reasoning, so when learning from the article what is going on, readers cannot contain themselves from using words their mothers told them not to use.

Using vulgarities shows the author’s emotions, making the reasoning less convincing to skeptical readers.

It is sad in this case because, as a well-informed reader of the article’s subject, I generally agree with its message. But I am disappointed that besides spreading a dystopian vision, this potentially good article is pointless.
