Medium aspire to be different. But this reminds me a famous saying by a Russian politician: “”We wanted the best, but it turned out like always.” The publisher and editors there do not seek the truth, they do not seek articles trying to make sense out of the avalanche of misinformation overwhelming us. As all media around them, they have their own political agenda, and promote texts they see as supporting their ideological leanings, regarding how good or bad these texts are.

Years ago, I described this process on the example of the WSJ. After joining Medium, I reposted this my old text, as a warning. I doubt that anyone from the leadership of Medium even read it. If they did, they brushed it off.
