Russia has resources but does not utilize them as well as others do.

Brits lost in Afghanistan in the 19th century. Soviets and then Americans did not learn from that experience. But there is a difference; there are no mountains in Ukraine.

You bring valid points. My argument is that there is no way to win a conventional war with Russia in Ukraine unless NATO mobilizes all its forces. NATO will delay its involvement for as long as possible. It means that many Ukrainians will die before that. If NATO joins the war, it will be a bloody bath before winning.

I plan to spend some time in Europe after the war ends.

So, let us make a bet; if with the West's help but without NATO direct involvement, the war ends with Ukrainians defending their independence themselves, within their 1991 borders, I buy you a beer. If Russia wins by establishing their government in Kyiv, you buy me a beer. If Russia loses because of using nukes, due to direct NATO involvement, or thanks to overturning Putin, you buy me a beer as well.
