Some authors are regularly listed in the Medium Daily Digest. There is a clear ideological leaning of the articles listed there. Many readers/writers are content with the message of that orientation. In that sense, Medium is a well-working propaganda machine.

Only authors not getting the recognition by the Medium leadership are disappointed. They do not earn any meaningful money. One can speculate that they would be getting better exposure and a higher income if their writing would be aligned with “the ideas that matter,” as Ev expressed it clearly in his invitation letter to the new subscribers.
