Thank you for checking my point of view. It is not common.
We need scribes as much as writers. There is nothing wrong with being one. For example, they do marketing. If they do it right, I can learn about a product or service that might improve my life if I buy it. It is morally dubious when they use their skills to lure me into buying something I should not buy or would not buy if well informed.
It is equally questionable when they take the same approach when writing an opinion piece. I mean advocating for the cause, not trying to find the truth behind the problem.
Let me correct you; the masses are not entertained by opinions. People want to get informed; we instinctively seek an understanding of the world around us. We need it to function.
Lastly, you are not alone in not liking politics. I have bad news for you; politics like you. If you want to be authentic in achieving anything in life, you will find that everything is political.
