It provided hope for grassroots diversity. Then, Ev decided to reach for help from declining newspapers and periodicals. He hired people from failing print media and brought their writing to Medium. He found out a hard way that what has not been working there does not work for Medium either.

Medium is still one of the most promising places, but you are correct to the degree that Ev can screw it up.
