Thank you for the very informative report.

My observations from my native Poland lead me to conclude that in the early stage of intense industrialization of a backward nation, a central government run by professionals can be beneficial.

Strategic investments in the infrastructure can bring long-term benefits for everyone. But gradually, the inefficiencies of the centralized economy constrain progress. Parallelly, as with every large social organization, corruption grows and dominates it.

In my native Poland, it showed about 20 years after WWII. In the most famous “meat affair” in 1965, the main accused was sentenced to death and executed, but it did not stop the corruption.

I touched on that subject in my article “Argentina — a warning to the United States and China.” I am curious about your comment about my take on China. Thanks in advance.
