Thank you for this exciting and very informative essay. But, it is just 2,951 words of self-flagellation. Americans are people like everybody else, not perfect. And never will be.

But like everybody else, we can be better. In particular, our immigration policy can be better. Sadly, the mainstream media do not seek ideas on how to make it better. Fortunately, Medium allows us to change it. Virtual Agora, is a new Medium’s publication devoted to discussions between people of opposing views.

To begin with, we focus on immigration. To get started, we have there three provoking columns. We invite others to present their views, preferably in short texts expressing one idea. We encourage polemics with articles published already. Virtual Agora is a creative environment where various points of view can clash in a Socratic-style debate. With your participation, an inquiring reader should find in one place all the information needed to understand our immigration problem and learn about possible ways to fix it.
