I am old enough to remember when experts were saying that the Soviet Union never would fall, even days before it did. I have a personal twist on it because 11 years before the fall of the Soviet Union, I wrote a book in Polish, in which I speculated about possible scenarios of the weakening of the Soviet dominance in East Europe. People literally were rolling their eyes and making circles on their foreheads. I heard that only an insane person could expect the Soviet Union to fall. More to say, people like me, looking for possible ways of the Soviet Union collapse, accelerated that collapse.

We need Russia back as a fully functional member of the world community. It is only possible if Russia loses the war and Putin is put on trial for his war crimes. The more we talk about it, the sooner it will come, “How could we end the war in Ukraine tomorrow?”
