The system reached its Marie Antoinette moment because people whom we trusted with the public money used their political influence to overpay themselves. They are those leaches drowning all of us in debt. You might be right that some new developments in banking and money (cryptocurrencies?) might be coming. But it could be just a simpler way of something that we can do in a conventional way, restoring the small government.
