The West is split on that weapons issue, if you did not notice. For example, Poles have no illusions, if the West gives Russia a free hand in Ukraine, then NATO’s Article 5 will be as honored as the Budapest Memorandum is now. So, Poles, the Baltic states, and Scandinavians will never stop supporting Ukraine. UK seems to be thinking the same. Germans, reluctantly, might help as well. Without American help, Russia might be able to kill more people. It might stay longer, to the point that, like during WWII, Americans will be forced to send their troops then instead of money now.
