I took literally that you “place a tremendous value on listening and open discussion” and agree with you that the greatest opportunity is in strengthening “Medium as a place for constructive conversation” and put together a few thoughts. It is about a better future for the nation and the world, “The future has the great past, but the present stands in the way.”

Medium is perfectly positioned to be a leading force in that process. The challenging tasks are ahead of you. If you follow the conventional wisdom, you will accomplish as much as all media have achieved so far, nothing. It would be a failure. If you take a bull by its horn, you will shake the cornerstones of the current media establishment; hence, many will do whatever they can to make you fail.

Ergo, no congratulations from me, but if you are ready to work to end the media as we know it, you can count on me.
