Tony, your thesis is as true as that everybody can learn singing with a little bit more work. I can assure you that regardless of how much work I do, you would not like hear me singing. I do not have a good ear for music.
But, when I face a messy situation where most people see no exit or fall into a debilitating panic, I can strategize the way out. It takes talent to find patterns in the chaos. Like with every skill, work on perfecting it is the 90% of success.
The problem is that not everybody needs to sing to be successful in life, but everybody needs to strategize. Mother nature resolved that problem by making us social. There is always someone in the group who is better at strategizing. Hence, the inherent part of good strategizing is the ability to see that, at a given moment, someone else might have a better strategy. It is a big part of my success in strategizing.
