We have civilization not because someone established the laws telling our ancestors how to do it.

It was exactly the opposite; when at the liberty to follow their greed, they enriched themselves and others. The so-called Friedman doctrine is just an observation of how things work when wealth is created. If some people care more about going to church on Sundays than about making money, they should have a right to do so.

In short, U-Ming Lee has no clue how it happened that he does not need to worry about starvation and a roof above his head as his ancestors did. He does not realize that he has a computer and the internet because of the greed that Freedman named so accurately. But he uses that wealth, which he did not earn, but inherited just by being born into a prosperous society, to cut the branch he is sitting on.

His article reflects a dangerous lack of knowledge of why he is in comfort, allowing him to spread ideas advocating the end of the prosperity he and others can enjoy.
