With every day the war lasts, more Russians doubt it, with the West restraining itself from getting involved directly. If NATO acts proactively, what might be rational from the West point of view, it will validate Putin's agenda in the eyes of Russians. Then, winning the war will be much harder. As I wrote when the war started, there are better ways to stop the war. Slowly, the media and politicians have been arriving with the same approach.
