Years back, in an opinion poll, among other questions, were the following two:

1. What is your current income?

2. What income would make you financially comfortable?

Most responders saw financial comfort with their incomes, which were about 20% above what they had. Those making $20k hoped for $25k, and those making $200k sought to have $250k.

The system is not rigged against the working class. Most of us cannot live within our means. We have difficulties resisting temptations. A person working at a payday day loan company told me that their best customers are people with good salaries.
