First, talent for writing is as common as talent for singing. At any karaoke party, one can notice that not many try, and only some can hold the tune.

More often than not, those who can hold the tune practice a lot. The old maxim was that talent is 10% in every success; hard work is 90%. It applies to writing as well. Obsession implies an attempt to succeed with no talent and without work. It is a recipe for failure.

The beauty of Medium is that everyone can test how much talent they have and how much work they are willing to put into developing it.
